Sound of Freedom, shockingly, did better than Indiana Jones at the Box Office on their opening weekend. When I read that, I didn’t believe it. I had to seek confirmation.
It has generated nearly $150 million at the domestic box office ( cost $14.5 million to make) since its July 4 debut.
The film has outpaced blockbuster-style features like Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” and Warner Bros.′ “The Flash” and is close to surpassing “Indiana Jones” after doing better on opening weekend.
This success can be misleading though according to Anneke Lucas, a sex-slave and ritual abuse survivor. She makes some valid points, beginning with how we see the concept of the “hero” in this context of child sex slavery. The more we go “Hollywood” with this world-wide evil, the more we may be diverted from the real solutions and the real heroes.
